Going Away Gift Ideas Crochet Scarf
Back to hubbing after almost a week. Exams ended and it was time to bid farewell to spring classes, which had been a second home for past 5 months. This scarf pattern I found in one of my crochet books, which I though will make out a gorgeous scarf for my professor. I gifted her a scarf as a thank you gift, as she had encouraged us to go up to the stage and speak. Lets see how to make this scarf.
Materials:
Any color yarn
Size 5 crochet hook.
Scissors
Tapestry needle.
How to Make:
Ch a multiple of 6 plus 3. for this scarf I chained 18 +3
Row 1: 2 dc, ch1 2 dc in the 6th ch from the hook (shell), *skip next 2 ch, 1 dc in next ch**, skip next 2 ch, 2dc, ch1, 2 dc in next ch (shell), rep from * across, ending last rep at **, turn.
Row 2: ch 3 (counts as dc), *2dc, ch 1, 2 dc in next ch-1 space, skip next 2dc of shell. front post double crochet (fpdc) in next dc, repeat from * across, ending last rep with dc in the top of the turning ch instead of fpdc, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, *2dc, 1 ch, 2dc in next ch-1 space, skip next 2 dc of shell, Back Post Double Crochet (bpdc) in next dc, rep from * across ending last rep with dc in the top of the turning ch instead of last bpdc, turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 till the desired length.
Fasten off
To Make Tassels: (make 2)
Wrap the yarn around your palm for 25- 30 times. Keep the palm not too tight. Cut of the yarn from the ball. Take another small piece of yarn, pass it through the center of the wrapped yarn, remove from hand and tie the thread. Cut off the opposite side of the yarn from where the knot is tied.
With the help of crochet hook tie the tassels to the end of scarf.
This pattern can also be used to make blanket, afghans and throws.
